When It Feels Heavy

A Letter to Those in a Dark Season (Inspired by Yolanda Adams + Boyz II Men)

Lately, it seems like so many of us are quietly walking through storms—emotionally, spiritually, mentally. If you’ve been feeling the weight of it all, this letter is for you. You’re not alone. You’re not broken. This season is not the end. Let this be your reminder to keep going. Inspired by the songs “Never Give Up” by Yolanda Adams and “I Will Get There” by Boyz II Men.

It’s been feeling heavy lately, hasn’t it?

I see it. I feel it. All around me, people I love—people like you—are walking through storms of confusion, pain, and spiritual weight. I want you to know that you are not alone. What you’re feeling isn’t weakness, and you’re not the only one navigating this fog.

This season may be uncomfortable, but I truly believe it’s purposeful. It’s not punishment—it’s part of the cycle. It’s a shedding, a stretching, a refining. And though I continue to lift you up in prayer, I’m also giving you space—not out of distance, but out of deep respect for your process. Because sometimes what we need most isn’t to be fixed—it’s to be held. Quietly. Gently. Without pressure.

I know it’s confusing. I know it’s frustrating to feel stuck, to wonder why it’s not your turn yet, why the light hasn’t come back on. But please don’t give up. You don’t need all the answers right now. You just need to take one step. And then another. The clarity will come, I promise you that—but only when you reach the other side.

On the days when I need that reminder myself, I listen to “Never Give Up” by Yolanda Adams. These lyrics stay with me:

“Keep the dream alive, don’t let it die.

If something deep inside keeps inspiring you to try…

Don’t stop. And never give up. Don’t ever give up on you.”

That song has become a mantra for me—an anthem I whisper to myself when I’m low. It’s more than music—it’s a lifeline. And I offer it to you now, hoping it will do for your heart what it’s done for mine: lift it. Remind it. Reignite it.

And when I need a softer, hope-filled nudge, I turn to “I Will Get There” by Boyz II Men. That song speaks truth:

“I will get there… somehow.

Cross that river, nothing’s stoppin’ me now.

I will get through the night. And make it to the other side.”

We all get lost sometimes. Stuck. Disoriented. That’s normal. It’s human. But getting stuck doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re being rebuilt. Your chains? Temporary. Your storm? Passing. You will get there.

I’m not here to rush your healing. I’m not here to flood your darkness with forced light. I’m simply here—quietly—believing for you on the days it’s hard to believe for yourself. And when you’re ready, I’ll still be right here, holding space with love and open arms.

So today, I just want to say this:

You’ve survived what tried to break you before. You’ll survive this too.

You’ve got a calling. A mission. A vision. Act on it—even when it gets hard.

You’re allowed to rest, but don’t quit.

You’re allowed to question, but don’t give up.

Your only job right now is to keep going.

Let these songs carry your spirit. Let your breath be your prayer. Let faith speak for you when words fail. And know that this—even this—is part of your becoming.

You will get there.

With love and light,

Kaydian
